FAQ - Post Report Call
1. If I have the minimum requirements for a section, why are improvements still being recommended?
The Mobility Mojo Standard is based on the best standards globally. Our compliance team look at guidelines, standards and legislation from around the world. This along with the expertise of being international accessibility experts ensures you are being measured against the highest levels of accessibility. The minimum requirements required by local legislation differ fom country to country (eg. The minimum door width by the ADA legislation is 81cm, for the BS8300 it's 85cm, by universal design it is 90cm and for the Mobility Mojo standard it's90+cm as this will accommodate any mobility device) and are often unfortunately the bare minimum requirements for someone with accessibility needs (eg. They can get in the door but how do they access the rest of the building). We use the purple tick icon to indicate that your building complies with the local requirements but can be more accessible to accommodate all accessibility needs.
2. Some of this information is incorrect - how do I change it?
You can update the information at any time by logging into the Mobility Mojo tool, updating the information and saving by clicking the next button. You have two weeks to complete any updates and notify the support team that the report can be updated. The support team will then send confirmation that the updated report is complete and available in your Mobility Mojo account.
3. If we make improvements and come back in six months, do we get an updated report or do we have to pay for a new assessment?
If the changes are made and the support team is notified of the changes within six months, the re-assessment is free and we will update your report.
4. What do the symbols in the compliance column mean?
The red symbol indicates and area where you are not compliant with the standards most applicable to your location. This information doesn't go anywhere, it is for us to flag to you that these improvements should be prioritised as they are what would be expected in terms of accessibility access. The purple tick indicates that you are compliant with standards most applicable to your location but you are not aligned with the Mobility Mojo standard of accessibility so there is still room to make this feature more accessible.
5. How does the scoring work?
We use a weighted sum formula which means our fouders who are internationally certified accessibility experts review the criteria we are assessing and assign a score based on how critical the accessibility feature is. For example, if you have a Cafeteria but don't have a menu in Large Print, this is less accessible but it doesn't stop someone using your Cafeteria. However, if you don't allow guide dogs on the premises, this would prevent some people from using the building/being able to work in your building so that has a higher score.
Alternative answer if it's about the section scoring being question
Each section score is based on the overall score you achieved for that particular section when answering the questions. So for example, the Safety and Evacuation section has 6 questions which attribute to the overall section score whereas the Disability Awareness Training is just one question so the score is either a zero or a ten depending on the answer to that question.
6. Is there clear space under the sink to enable a wheelchair user to fit under?
One could wheel under the sink from the RHS, and there is room underneath the sink as well so they can reach the operable parts from a seated position (this is how it's described in the standards)
7. What sort of flush handle is in this picture and what is the significance?
8. What sort of flush control is this and what is the significance?
9. Is Mobility Mojo comparing with our own country standards? Why do we not have a compliance tick/red circle for our own country standards?
Mobility Mojo ensures a comprehensive user experience for individuals with diverse disabilities. This includes considerations for various mobility impairments, visual & hearing impairments, and neurodiversity. Our harmonised evaluation criteria guarantees that workplaces not only meet the minimum requirements but excel in providing accessibility and inclusivity on a global scale.
A purple tick indicates that for a particular section, (e.g. Parking, Reception area, Bathroom) you are aligned with the standards most applicable to your building location, however not at the MM standard for that section.
A red circle indicates that you are not aligned with the standards most applicable to your location for a particular section
10. Why is there no symbol (tick/red cirle) beside a section in the report?
If no symbol appears, it signifies that there are no specific standards for that particular question in your region. However, the question is still asked since relevant standards exist within the harmonised MM standards.
