Now in its 24th year, the prestigious Spider Awards held at the RDS Concert Hall, is Ireland’s longest-running digital awards and one of the industry's most sought after accolade for digital, web, community, and brand excellence.

The three pillars of the 2019 Spiders explore the interactions between the human, the brand and the technology to identify the best in class harnessing the power of digital. This aligns with Mobility Mojo’s vision to drive global excellence in accessibility and inclusiveness in hotels and the hospitality industry.

We were absolutely thrilled to have been shortlisted for 3 awards - Best Website, Best Innovation, and Best in Universal Design, representing a massive endorsement of our work that comes from such nominations.


Universally Designed for Accessibility

The Universal Design Award category recognises and showcases companies that can

demonstrate a capacity for designing solutions that aim to be accessed, understood and used to the greatest extent possible by all people, regardless of their age, size or ability. 

Best in Universal Design is a new and welcome addition to the category line-up. This award category recognises companies that have implemented universal design values not only in their website, but throughout their digital presence including apps and social media.

That accessibility has been included as a principal factor in design and user experience makes us particularly proud to have won the ‘Best in Universal Design’ award as we felt this was an ideal category for Mobility Mojo’s ethos - which centres around removing barriers for those with accessibility needs.

We’re delighted that our holistic approach to accessibility has been recognised as a positive step for the industry.


Accessibility - Now Firmly on the Map!

The wider takeaway from this years’ spider awards for us was, that digital accessibility is rising to the forefront of design considerations. Nowadays it is not enough simply to have accessible features at your premises, or factored into your services. Companies must extend this accessibility to their online presence too.

At Mobility Mojo we know how much untapped potential there is in accessibility. Our platform allows hotels to easily self-audit their accessibility features, and promote these on their website, collecting valuable market data along the way (find out more here). We recently added a voice activation “Speak” feature to our website that reads content aloud. It’s just one of the small steps we’ve taken to ensure the world is open to everyone.
